If you do a quick check you may find you’ve already been breached. I searched my main email, i’ve had the same Gmail for 5 years, and it’s in more than 8 breaches and 3 paste. Companies like Cafe press, My fitness pal, Canva and Wattpad. You may think hey i don’t care if a hacker gets into my canva account, but is it the same password as Amazon? does one of them have bank details saved?
How to guard against a breach:
More and more your data will be used, it will happen, get used to it, as powerful hacking tools become more automated it will happen.
Don’t use the same password for everything.
Get an offline password manager
Don’t be honest - lie about your name and DOB, Canva has no right to know you’re real name.
Osint yourself once a year
Have a sign-up email and a friend email.
Stalking and breaches
Given more and more breaches are happening and a bad actor or your ex can buy your data on from one of these breaches for a few dollars. People need to be on guard, everyone needs a password manager and NEVER re-use a password.
